Great Leadership Yields Great Results
This month, our president, Pat Van Burkleo, was named National Executive of the Year by the Professional Association of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Van Burkleo was one of five regional winners to be considered for the National Executive of the Year Award.

Junior League Teaches Life Skills to Prepare Club Members
On Tuesday, April 24, Junior League of Baton Rouge members taught a group of middle and high school Club members how to be SMART girls. At a one half day conference, Club members learned about respect, health, academics and motivation. Special thanks to event chair, Kelly Kyle, her committee and all Junior League members for hosting this special day.

Living a Healthy Lifestyle - OLOL and Boys & Girls Club Team Up
Our Lady of the Lake (OLOL) College and the Boys & Girls Club are meeting community needs by offering students community service that produces measurable impact and engages students in meaningful service. Nursing students offered glucose and blood pressure screenings during a community health fair held at Belaire High School - one Boys & Girls Club site. OLOL students have also spent time tutoring elementary-age Club members and have hosted four interactive sessions about the dangers of radiation exposure to students at Mayfair Middle School - a Boys & Girls Club site for kids of the Gardere community. |
