A Day to BE...
Boys & Girls Club Members Walk in the Shoes of Local Professionals
At the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge, anything is possible. On Tuesday, June 28, 2011 50 Club members learned about the many different careers that are available to them. It was a day to be an architect, a day to be a lawyer, a day to be a restaurant manager—a day to BE GREAT.
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge strives to empower its members by teaching them that with hard work and determination, they can be anything they want to be. "A Day to BE…” began with a welcome breakfast at LSU Alex Box Stadium Champion's Club followed by two hours of job shadowing. The day culminated with a lunch at the Champion's Club where with a guest speaker.
This was the second year the Club hosted "A Day to BE…” The Club believes that through exposure and a clear vision, Club members will continue to strive for good grades and reach their goals. "A Day to BE…” is just one way the Club is creating more opportunities for real-world learning for the future of Baton Rouge.
Special thanks to Scott Ritter, board member and event chair, for his help in making this great day possible.
