S.M.A.R.T. Girls Conference
The S.M.A.R.T. Girls conference celebrates making right decisions in all aspects of life. Providing guidance and tools to make those decisions will empower our girls to live healthy, responsible lives where they can give back to our community.
The Junior League of Baton Rouge (JLBR) created a one-day seminar for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge's middle school female members. This year's conference took place at the Catholic Life Center on April 19, 2011.
The sessions involved S.M.A.R.T. Girls values such as teamwork, cooperation and self-esteem building. S.M.A.R.T. Girls is a life-enhancing program designed to teach young women how to make wise and educated life choices. Through this program, Club members explored societal attitudes and values as well as their own while building skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
