We serve school-age youth, 6-18 years old, who need us most. Many Club members attend some of the lowest performing schools in East Baton Rouge Parish and live in neighborhoods with high crime. More than 90 percent of Club members qualify for free and reduced lunch—one indicator of poverty. We believe that all young people, no matter their circumstances, deserve the opportunity to succeed in life. We give hope and opportunity. Our programs help build responsible youth by providing real skills, igniting passions and inspiring confidence about their futures.

Our programs are divided between three areas: Out-of School Time, Youth Legislature, and Get Real About Violence. While encouraging our three outcomes of Academic Success, Citizenship & Character, and Healthy Lifestyles in all programming, our afterschool and summer programs focus on five core program areas: Arts, Education, Leadership, Life Skills and Sports, Fitness & Recreation.

Our reputation for exceptional program delivery has, in turn, made us a sought-after partner for organizations seeking to provide beneficial programs or services to children and teens.

Every day, Boys & Girls Clubs are inspiring a generation. Whether encouraging young people to complete their homework, play sports or recreational activities, enter an art competition or have a healthy snack, the Club staff knows the important role they play in creating the wholesome environment kids need.
