The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge is embarking on an expansion into Ascension Parish. In partnership with Ascension Leadership, we are establishing a Boys & Girls Club at Lowery Elementary School. The Pilot Program is scheduled to operate for the 2019-2020 school year targeting 30 to 45 third grade members.
The goal is to be able to offer a full-service Boys & Girls Club targeting all grades at Lowery (3 – 5 grades) reaching more than 100 students for the summer of 2020 and the 2020-2021 school year. A fundraising campaign will need to raise $150,000 for this annual operating budget (see proposed budget).
Once the Boys & Girls Club at Lowery Elementary is operating, the Club would like to expand to other schools in the parish.
This campaign effort, while supported by the Boys & Girls Club staff, must be lead and sustained by the community for the community. We have designed a three-pronged approach to raising this needed money: Individuals, Corporations/Business and Grants. To sustain long term support funding must come from a diverse set of donors.
A gift to support our annual campaign is a very generous contribution from individual donors who support our mission. These gifts will be designated to support the Ascension and can be made monthly, annually or as a one-time contribution. Click to support our Annual Campaign for Kids!
Without caring and committed corporations, we would not be able to provide many services, programs, and activities to our members. Corporate sponsorships can take on many forms, grants, cash or in-kind gifts. However small or large, we welcome all sponsorships. Without you, we could not continue to make an impact every day. We would love to build a relationship with you. If you or your company is interested in supporting our ongoing needs, youth development programs, special projects or would like to volunteer, please contact us.
Boys & Girls Club will be writing grants (government, foundation & trust) to support the expansion into Ascension Parish. These grant requests are actually a call to action. It’s a request that a funder join the Club as a partner in achieving specific results. Since the point of a grant award is impact rather than money, the real point of a grant proposal is to rally the necessary resources to help the Club fulfill its purpose.
