34 CORPORATE SPONSORS PARTICIPATE IN BOYS & GIRLS CLUB STEAK & STAKE EVENT
Boys & Girls Club held its Annual Steak & Stake Dinner on Thursday, October 26 at the Baton Rouge River Center. Steak & Stake is an evening set aside annually to celebrate and recognize the Club’s corporate donors. Guests sat at tables with Club members and enjoyed a steak dinner provided by Walk-Ons Catering.
This year the Club recognized 34 local corporate sponsors, including Cox Communications as the event’s Mission Sponsor. Vision sponsors included Aetna Better Health of Louisiana, Albemarle, Baton Rouge Coca-Cola, Healthy Blue and Our Lady of the Lake. The event had six Impact sponsors: Capital One, Faulk & Winkler, Carmeuse Lime & Stone, Greater Baton Rouge State Fair, Jones Walker and Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips.
Money raised through this corporate campaign supports the Club’s programs for school-aged youth focusing on academics, health and character.
Lauren Westbrook, WAFB, served as the event’s emcee. The Boys & Girls Club Step Team from Belaire High School welcomed guests as they entered the ballroom. The Boys & Girls Club Choir from Park Forest Middle School provided the evening entertainment.
This year’s event also featured Fred Dent, of Dent Asset Management, as emcee for the Club’s Fund the Need program, which raised more than $15,000 from donors at the event.
The Steak & Stake host committee included Michael Platte (Chair), Chris Billings, Brent Cobb, Laura Cobb, Marc Garnier, Erin Kenny, Frances Lewis, Mawuena Tayki, and Melissa Terito.
